Mega Frame
MegaFrame - Voice, data, and video integrated over one network
"Simply put, we've designed a better Frame network." - Paul Joncas CEO
MegaFrame is a private, frame relay/ATM data network that currently blankets Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, with expanded coverage in New York and Washington D.C. to soon follow in Q4. MegaNet's MegaFrame service empowers organizations. This innovative service makes it possible to connect multiple locations within the multi-state coverage area via private high-speed connections -- enabling the facilitation of private corporate networks, insulated from the Internet. MegaNet's MegaFrame service represents a substantial cost savings over the frame relay services that are currently offered by the regional bells and national long distance carriers such as Verizon and AT&T. Private in-state connections have recognized on the average savings of 35% over current frame relay pricing. And, Inter-State connections have experienced savings of more than 50% vs. the current long distance carrier rates.
"Village Retirement Communities had 56K Frame Circuits that tied into a full T1 at our corporate location for Internet connectivity. We decided to integrate over to a complete eleven point multi-state WAN, and Verizon could not even come close to Meganet's pricing. We are now realizing a 39% monthly cost savings. As important, Meganet's service has been first rate. and they made sure that the cutover to the MegaFrame was practically seamless. The only problems we had were with SNET but Meganet stayed on them and got the issues resolved quickly. They are a great company and I have and would highly recommend them to anyone who asks"
Calvin Field
IT Director, Village Retirement Community
"Americare brought in Meganet Communications to rescue us from our former vendor. We were totally fed up with being down, which seemed to become a weekly occurrence - and, our bills were almost always incorrect. Meganet came in and resolved our network's issues by provisioning Americare with 512K Circuits at all of our remote sites and a MegaFrame T1 at our main facility.
Efficiently and effectively is how it all came together - with no down time. Through Meganet's planning and keen configuration, we were able to consolidate seven locations into one large call center. Meganet's WAN has enabled Americare to put time and resources into its business plan instead of wasting it on unproductive network support issues."

President & CEO, Americare
MegaFrame's core network is engineered with redundant fiber-optic interconnects and Lucent Technologies' carrier grade switching devices. Local loop connections to customer locations can be structured utilizing available telecommunications products such as T1, DSL, or a blend of both. Optional services can include integrated private voice communications between customer locations, as well as Internet access deployment at each facility, or through one centralized location serving the entire private network.
Do you need it?
Yes, If your..
Organization has multiple locations that need LAN-to-LAN connectivity. An example of this type of application would be remote sites that require access to a central mainframe or database.
Yes, If you..
Transfer large amounts of data between locations. For example, if you are transferring graphical layouts between designers and printers.
Yes, If you..
Want to centralize the IT management of your organization's computer assets versus having trained technical staff at each remote location. With MegaFrame your system administrator can support and troubleshoot LAN and desktop problems from one central location, thus alleviating personnel and outsourcing costs. These are just a few examples of how your organization will benefit from MegaFrame Service. Our highly skilled account executives can help you with an informal cost benefit analysis to see how this or other Meganet services will benefit your organization.
What makes it cost effective?
Instead of connecting a dedicated line from each remote location back to a central location (corporate headquarters), MegaFrame simulates the multiple connections with the use of Permanent Virtual Connections (PVC) programmed into the MegaFrame switching fabric. By alleviating the need for multiple connections back to the central site MegaFrame represents a substantial savings over dedicated point-to-point connections. One MegaFrame connection at the central site is simultaneously connected to all remote sites within your private MegaFrame network. Due to Meganet Communications commitment to maintain a high capacity fiber optic network interconnecting Meganet locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and Connecticut, MegaFrame connections do not need to "IXC" inter-state (Inter-LATA) traffic to a long distance provider to complete a circuit between two states where MegaFrame is available. Your company can save thousands of dollars every month versus the alternative services offered by your local telephone company, who will charge a "hand-off" fee for connections between states. Optional services such as voice over IP and Dedicated Internet access can be integrated into every MegaFrame network, pushing the envelope of savings even further.
What makes MegaFrame better?
It's faster. MegaFrame was designed to do one thing, move your data as fast as possible. It is not an "add-on" product to a network that is already supporting voice, long-distance, and data. Each MegaFrame circuit is connected to a dedicated DS1 (or DS3) switch port creating a one to one port ratio eliminating the need for Frame Clouds and partial CIRs (Committed Information Rate). Dedicated switch ports mean full bandwidth is ALWAYS available. Our second generation Lucent switches are faster and support higher circuit density than currently deployed ILEC equipment. MegaFrame customers are provided a single point of contact for network design, provisioning, and testing this eliminates the time consuming escalation procedure employed by the ILECs. If that's not enough to convince you, most MegaFrame service orders are handled the same day.
But is it reliable enough?
All MegaFrame lines are provisioned over DS-1 or DS-3 Telco trunks, which have the highest repair priority with the phone company should an outage ever occur. For an added level of reliability and security, backup circuits are available at a significantly reduced cost for an extra level of security should you deem it necessary. The MegaFrame network is proactively monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Performance is guaranteed with diagnostic testing executed several times a day throughout the entire MegaFrame network. Redundant network architecture, carrier grade switching devices with redundant network components proliferate the MegaFrame network. Meganet Communications maintains two Network Operation centers (Fall River, MA and Providence, RI) should one ever become unusable due to a localized disaster such as fire or act of God, the second NOC quickly and easily can handle the added workload without disruption of service.
How will it scale as my company grows?
New locations can be easily integrated into an existing MegaFrame Network at anytime. Your MegaFrame network is scalable, designed to grow in pace with your business' needs.
